Is AI Adoption in the Workplace Stalled?

Two-thirds of employees say they never use AI in their role, highlighting the early stage of AI integration across many industries. Despite growing awareness of AI’s potential, the technology has not yet permeated the everyday tasks of the majority of the workforce.

There are also low levels of comfort with AI, with only 6% of employees feeling “very comfortable” using it, while about one-third (32%) express outright discomfort. While these results suggest a need for education and training, other factors may be at play.

⭐Some employees might avoid AI due to concerns that it could eventually replace their jobs, leading to deliberate disengagement from AI tools (cognitive dissonance). Interestingly, only 6% of employees who do use AI report that it has improved their sense of job security.

⭐In some organizations, limited access to AI technologies may be hindering adoption, and when leadership or organizational culture doesn’t actively promote AI adoption, it can inadvertently send the opposite message.

⭐Moreover, many employees may not fully understand how AI can be applied to their tasks or are unaware of the tools available to them.
