I mentioned gesture in a post earlier this week.  Earlier this week, Microsoft Research unveiled the gloveless digital hand interface which uses cameras and gesture.  Here is a video:

Another approach is the work being done by PredictGaze. PredictGaze wants to take advantage of the cameras (ie sensors) already embedded in devices like smartphones and tablets.
